Session Description

AHDI’s Career Map for Healthcare Documentation has been designed as a guide for career planning and goal setting in new and changing roles within the healthcare documentation industry. Individuals will better be able to understand how they can use their knowledge, skills, and experience to better position themselves for the roles they want. The Career Map also is useful to organizations looking to refine or restructure their departments and develop their teams.

We’ll explore careers in IT/EHR, Healthcare, Document Integrity, Revenue Cycle/HIM, and Administration. Attendees also will learn what additional skills, education, experience, training, or certification may be required to move up the career ladder. Join us to rev up your career!

Learning Objectives

  1. Hear about the spectrum of jobs emerging within the healthcare documentation realm, along with skill sets and associated requirements.
  2. Learn what transferable skills are and how they will benefit you in various positions.
  3. Discover how the Career Map may help your organization evaluate and build up your teams.
